We have compiled several courses on miscellaneous technical and
marketing issues concerning fiber-optic networks. While the courseware contains
mainly generic information, some examples are provided based on our solutions.

| Resilience and Network Integrity |
Fibrolan's MetroStar systems offer a rich set of resilience/network integrity features and
mechanisms, including Fault propagation, Loop Back, Extended loop back, SLE (subscriber link
emulation), LST (Link Segmentation Test.
Some features are present in only some products, others in all.
Experience shows that the comprehensive set of features sometimes confuses users, causing wrong
configuration and finally operational problems.
The attached document elaborates on the various mechanisms, the differences between them and
operational tips. |
