ABOUT US

FibroLAN is a mature, yet dynamic and fast growing vendor of Fiber-optic networking and Broad-Band Access systems. Since its inception in 1996, FibroLAN’s engineering team – – has been busy developing products catering to the needs of both Enterprise and Metro Ethernet networks.

FibroLAN’s marketing experts have a proven record of well predicting the needs of evolving markets, frequently being single suppliers to answer actual demands.

FibroLAN’s offering includes hundreds of items- Access Systems and Media-Converters featuring:

  • Protocols: Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, GigaBit Ethernet, OC-3/STM1, OC-12/STM4, OC-48/STM16, E1, T1, E3, T3, CWDM, Serial Protocols (RS232/422/485)
  • Enclosures: Single channel, miniature dual channel, fixed chassis multi channel (up to 16 in 1U), modular chassis
  • Distances covered: 2to150 km over a single fiber stretch
  • Fiber Plant: Multi-Mode, Single-Mode, Single Fiber Strand
  • Optical Interfaces: SC, ST, MTRJ, VF-45, LC, SFP, Xenpak, XFP
  • Operational and Resilience: Fault Propagation, Selective Fault Propagation, Subscriber Link Emulation (SLE), Loop-Back, Link Segmentation Test (LST), Link Protection
  • Power Plants: AC switching wide range (internal) power supplies, redundant (load sharing) power supplies, carrier range DC (-36 to –72VDC) and industrial (12/24VDC) power supplies,
  • Management: products are available in managed versions – -SNMP out-of-band, SNMP in-band, Telnet, Remote (MA) in-band and IEEE802.3ah OAM
  • Specialty solutions: Ring Topology, redundant Link, Local Traffic Aggregators

While in its first years of operation FibroLAN mainly served the enterprise market , during years 2001/2 the company focused its R&D and marketing efforts on enhancing its offering to the carrier market, with end-to-end managed solutions for broad-band access networks.

These efforts resulted with the introduction of two new technologies in 2002:

  • The MetroStar – a carrier grade Fiber Access Concentrator
  • The MA™ - a proprietary chip especially developed to be embedded in FibroLAN’s MetroStar and a series of CPEs, allowing remote, in-band secure management (no IP address needed) of CPEs, loaded with carrier oriented features such as rate limiting, loop-back, last gasp and more.

These new technologies immediately attracted the attention of many ILECs and CLECs. Consequently, FibroLAN is already a supplier of solutions for FTTB to several carriers.

Corporate: FibroLAN is a public company (shares traded in TASE, symbol FIBR), financially solid and profitable. The company operates from a 1,000sq.m. facility in Yoqneam, the northern "Silicon Valley" of Israel, and offices in Rochelle Park, NJ, USA, as well as in Sweden, Denmark and Norway.
