Access Concentrator MetroStar

The MetroStar^TM System is a compact and flexible Multi-Service Access Concentrator. It houses a variety of modules included in this section as well as WDM modules (section IV WDM-Transmission).

Located at the network edge, it interfaces network switches and other transmission devices.

Each module connects to a remote CPE/NTU (section II- Access NTU) located at the user end,providing the F/O connectivity and IP-less OAM (based on either FibroLAN's   unique MA^TM protocol or IEEE802.3ah).

While originally designed for carriers, the system provides a high end, cost efficient solution for medium/large enterprise networks as well.
